Giovanni da Palestrina, (c. 1525-1594) 3 Ricercars
Palestrina is justly famous for his vocal music but he also wrote
instrumental ricercars three of which are transcribed for bass quartet by Klaus
Stoll. Both bass and treble clef are used in these pieces which are written for
four basses in the same tuning.
Upper voice: advanced
Lower three voices: intermediate
