This work, originally written for Cello and Bass, was composed by Haydn during his stay at the Esterhazy court at Eisenstadt. The first movement in C minor contains interesting chromatic harmonies and is followed by the Tempo di Minuetto which is a set of variations in C major. This piece was discovered and edited by Klaus Stoll and is recorded by the Baumann Stoll duo on Teldec CD ZK 84287: Originalwerke für Violoncello und Kontrabass.
