Joseph Bodin de Boismortier (1689-1755) Sonata in B major opus 40/2 (1732)
in four movements
One of the most prolific and prosperous composers of his period, Boismortier began composing in Perpignan and later moved to Paris. This sonata contrasts two graceful slow movements with a very energetic central presto. The final movement is a lively gavotte. This piece is recorded by the Berlin Philharmonic Duo on Schwann CD 31105G1.
